This Old (NC) House -- Workshops

For those New Castle residents living in old houses, maintaining them can be a challenge. The August Preservation Trades Network workshop sponsored by IPTW and NCHS was tremendously popular. Some residents have suggested having Saturday morning sessions in greater depth by one or two crafts persons -- such as plaster, painting, window repair...

Upcoming events -- 2007

In January and February 2007, there will be two more artifact workshops, probably at the Arsenal restaurant. NC-CHAP will bring archaeologist to talk about YOUR artifacts, or those of your neighbors. Post here if you have artifacts you'd like discusse -- and let us know what type-- ceramic, coins, building materials ..

Current plans are for the Old Library to be used for an artifact center after the current exhibit is finished in December. Possibilities include a workshop for cleaning and cataloging in the basement, display areas and meeting area upstairs in a very cool building.
